About the program
The National Family Protection Program is established by the Government of Algeria to redirect public resources from untargeted subsidies toward direct, transparent and dignified support for the households that need help most.
Mandate
The program oversees the gradual adjustment of consumer prices for fuel, electricity, bread and water, and operates the monthly compensation payments to eligible households.
Governance

The program is technically supported by the World Bank under the Social Protection and Jobs framework, with input from UN agencies and Algerian civil-society organizations.
